Moderation decides how chat in your room is handled. A moderator reads chat for you during every live, using the settings you choose here. You set it once and it applies to every live you do.
Set it up
- Open Studio → Moderation.
- Under Stance, pick how strict the moderator is. Standard catches spam, scams and harassment. Strict is stricter, for family-friendly rooms, and hides a message when it's unsure. Standard is the default.
- Under How it acts, choose what the moderator does on its own. Mute quietly mutes the person without a fuss, and you can undo it anytime. Ask me first mutes nothing until you approve it. Off means no muting and no flags.
- Turn Allow links in chat on or off. When it's off, a message with a link doesn't reach the room until you approve it.
- Tap Save.
What a quiet mute is
When the moderator mutes someone, their messages stop showing to everyone else. They still see their own messages, and they aren't told. Anyone muted is listed under Quietly muted on the Moderation page. Unmute lets them back into chat, and their hidden messages show again in the Encore.
Anything bigger than a quiet mute, such as a timeout, is never done on its own. It waits for you in the control room.
During a live
Open the Moderation panel in the control room.
- For this live changes the stance for this live only. Your settings on the Moderation page stay as they are.
- Hold messages with links until I read them holds link messages in your Chat panel, with Approve and Remove beside each one.
- Suggestions from the moderator show with Do it and Leave it.
- Reported messages lists messages people in the room have reported. Take it down removes the message; the cross beside it dismisses the report and keeps the message.
- Quietly muted lists who is muted, with Unmute beside each person.
You can also act on one person from the Participants panel: open the menu beside their name and choose Turn off their chat or Remove from this live. In the Chat panel, you can delete any message, and the gear sets a cooldown between messages.
The record
The Moderation page shows how many people were quietly muted in the last 30 days, how many mutes were reversed, and how many people are muted now. The log lists every action, who took it, and why.
